Top community teams set to compete in Champion of Champions

September 26th, 2019

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) has released the Official Draw for the 2019 NNSWF Champion of Champions tournament, held at C.ex International Stadium in Coffs Harbour.

A total of 39 community teams from across the region have accepted their invitation to compete at the annual competition, with over 550 young footballers competing across the week.

The tournament focuses on youth competitions conducted by NNSWF’s seven (7) Member Zones with their respective leading teams competing in the 12 to 16 Boys and Girls Years divisions to compete for the coveted title of NNSWF’s Champion of Champions.

NNSWF CEO David Eland is pleased that the upcoming tournament has grown from 26 to 39 teams and has said it is a great privilege for all involved.

“The NNSWF Champion of Champions provides affiliated community clubs with an opportunity to compete against clubs from other Member Zones throughout Northern NSW, which ordinarily they wouldn’t get the chance to play,” said NNSWF CEO David Eland

“The establishment of the Champion of Champions is consistent with our strategic goal of improving the experience for all participants.” Eland concluded.

The first of 114 matches will commence at 9:00am on Sunday 6 October with the 12-14 Years Boys age groups to play their tournament over the first three (3) days, while the 15 and 16 Years Boys to play 8-10 October.

The two (2) Girls age groups will begin their competitions 11-13 October.

The presentation ceremony for the Championships will take place following their age group’s Finals.

The official hashtag for the event is #ChampOfChamps.
