Northern NSW Football announces return of Newcastle Permanent Community Recognition Awards for 2020

June 22nd, 2020

Northern NSW Football and Newcastle Permanent are delighted to announce the return of the Newcastle Permanent Community Recognition Awards in 2020.

The awards were delayed in accordance with the postponement of the 2020 NNSWF season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But with community football able to return from 1 July the awards, like football, will be back in 2020.

Newcastle Permanent has been NNSWF’s major community football partner since 2008.

Integral to the Newcastle Permanent Community Football partnership is the recognition of volunteers, coaches, referees and others on the ground who play a vital role in delivering the game across northern NSW.

The awards will return in July with the Club of the Month, Coach of the Month, Volunteer of the Month and Referee of the Month awards, with nominations now open.

Awards will be presented for July, August, September and October as well as yearly Zone winners and the NNSWF yearly winners.

With no football possible during June, the first Referee of the Month award will not be presented in July. Instead, NNSWF is committed to profiling referees from across northern NSW as part of Newcastle Permanent Referee Recognition Week from July 20 to 26, 2020.

NNSWF CEO David Eland said he was delighted the awards would return next month.

“The Newcastle Permanent Community Recognition Awards are an integral part of recognising and thanking those hard-working, dedicated people who make playing football in our region possible,” Eland said.

“If you know a volunteer, match official, coach or club that are doing a great job and deserve to be acknowledged, don’t be shy. Make sure you nominate them so they can be appreciated for what they do for our game.”
