NNSWF launch Female Football Club Ambassadors project

January 21st, 2022

Northern NSW Football has launched its Female Football Club Ambassadors project throughout northern NSW clubs.

The goal of the project is to work with member clubs to provide relevant and valued support across the member federation by implementing sustainable, high-quality programs such as MiniRoos Kick-Off for Girls and Kick-On for Women.

These programs aim to maximise participation and enjoyment for female players, coaches, match officials and volunteers leading to increased retention rates.

The ambassador role will oversee the establishment of programs and services within their club environment, with a particular focus on the recruitment, retention and football experience enhancement of female participants.

There will also be a focus on developing inclusive cultures at clubs, with the aim to develop more inclusive clubs and share information about female participation, refereeing, coaching and leading.

NNSWF Female Participation and Inclusion Officer Annelise Rosnell said the organisation were on the lookout for people aged 18-years and over with experience either in football or the creation of inclusive experiences or programs for women to be part of the project.

“We want 50 engaged volunteers in the role of Female Football Club Ambassador across northern NSW,” Rosnell said.

“This would see a lot of benefits including an increased retention rate from 2021 and 2022 but also increased club-based delivery of MiniRoos Kick-Off and Kick-On for Women programs.

“We’d also like to see an increased number of female participants in coaching and referee courses from 2021 to 2022.

“This is a chance for clubs to increase participation within their club, specifically for females. But also there are upskill opportunities for ambassadors and a chance for them to join a network of likeminded individuals.”

Interested individuals are encouraged to approach their club in the first instance before completing an expression of interest HERE.
