NNSWF announces squads for 2022 National Youth Championships

Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce its squads for the 2022 National Youth Championships.

NNSWF will host the 2022 National Youth Championships which will be played at C.ex Coffs International Stadium, Coffs Harbour in September.

NNSWF Head of Football Development Peter Haynes said he was pleased to make the announcement and congratulated the selected players.

“Players were selected following a thorough program consisting of club training and match observations, assessments from the Talent Support Program coaching network, participation in TSP tournaments and participation in elite games,” Haynes said.

“This process of identification, assessment and benchmarking was also backed up by data captured via NNSWF’s Talent ID App and numerous conversations with premier club, regional member zone and Newcastle Jets Academy technical directors and coaches.

“We’re also pleased to announce the coaching team that will support each squad. This group of highly accredited coaches have a wealth of experience in developing players at the highest level and we look forward to seeing them assist this cohort maximise their potential at the championships in September.

“We congratulate all the players who will represent us at the 2022 National Youth Championships and wish them all the very best for the tournament.”

Football Australia charged NNSWF with the responsibility to select two under-14s and 15s boys squads, as well as one under-14s and one under-16s girls squad to compete at the championships.

The NYC Girls will be played from 19 to 23 September while the NYC Boys will be played from 26 to 30 September.

The National Youth Championships are Football Australia’s primary national football tournament for under-14s and 15s boys and under-14s and 16s girls. The competition will see teams from each of Football Australia’s state member federations compete over five days.

Northern NSW Football have hosted the championships since 2006 working closely with Coffs Harbour City Council, their sports unit and the community.
