Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is pleased to announce the Newcastle Permanent Coach of the Month for August 2017 across the zones.

Football enriches character, intelligence, coordination and skill and each season, brave men and women step up to the plate and take on the task of helping our young athletes reach their potential: The Coach.

“It is very pleasing to be able to recognise each of this Month’s winners for displaying the attitudes and behaviours that NNSWF is trying to instil in all Community Coaches,” Community Football Manager, Peter Haynes said.

Each month, one registered coach from each of NNSWF’s seven Member Zones will be awarded the Newcastle Permanent Community Coach of the Month award.

Each winner will receive a Newcastle Permanent Community Coaching kit consisting of 6 balls, 20 markers, 10 bibs and a whistle, as well as a polo shirt and cap, to assist in fulfilling their roles at their respective club.

At the end of the season, each Zone will nominate one community coach from their pool of winners, to represent their Zone for the opportunity to be named “Newcastle Permanent Community Coach of the Year” announced at NNSWF annual awards night.

“Providing an effective learning environment in a safe and fun way is key to each Club to provide a positive football experience to their players and each of this Month’s winners should be commended for their commitment to their club and their team.”

Newcastle Permanent Chief Executive Officer, Terry Millett echoes Haynes sentiments and applauds those who received the award.

“Newcastle Permanent is proud to support community football across Northern NSW and it is great to be able to recognise the efforts of a local coach who shows such dedication to developing his team,” Williams said.

Kacia is amazing with the kids. She shows emotion and commitment to the team. The kids love her and she is definitely making a huge difference.

Mark Ling

Maitland Junior Football

Hunter Valley Football

Mark has coached this team since some of them were in U6; in that time he has been an outstanding mentor for the boys. He has made all the players feel like valuable members of the team regardless of their skill level. He has nurtured the development of players who required extra assistance due to issues that sometimes hindered their teamwork, he has always demonstrated respect and been patient where others may not have. His passion for the game is second to none and he has instilled this passion in the team, so much so that despite the team naturally growing as the age group progressed, players desperately wanted to join the team to be part of his high-quality training program. In the 6 seasons that the team has been blessed to have him, coach has always remained positive and built the team up when they have felt defeated, his famous end of game huddle has always been an integral part of learning from the game, be it a win or loss and acknowledging the effort that was given. He models good sportsmanship by interacting with officials and the opposition’s coach and manager in a friendly and positive manner. He has devoted and volunteered over 200 hours of his time to his team. It would be a huge honour, as the boys move on to graded soccer next year, to acknowledge our appreciation of his outstanding contribution by having him recognised as Coach of the Month. If there was a Coach of the Season, Year or Decade we would nominate him for that as well!! Thank you for the opportunity to nominate Mark for this special award.

He is always encouraging and always positive towards the kids. Aaron offers his time twice a week to train the kids and all his hard work and amazing efforts are paying off. We are currently sitting 3rd on the ladder (which is a mammoth improvement) and the kids spirits, love for the game and teamwork have never been higher!

We are so lucky to have Aaron back on board for another season this year and we cant wait to see where he leads the kids over the coming years!
