Congratulations to Lochinvar Rovers FC and Mayfield United JSFC who both submitted an application to the new National Club Development Program (NCDP) and were recognised with the highest accolade and being awarded five stars.
Jeremy Toivonen from Football Federation Australia (FFA) visited the region on Sunday to present certificates to both clubs in recognition of their achievements in completing the NCDP and achieving the highest recognition available.
Toivonen said it’s an honour the clubs should be proud of.
“Mayfield United JSFC and Lochinvar Rovers FC have certainly set a high bar with both clubs achieving the maximum of five stars,” he said.
“There are great people at the clubs doing great things for their members and for the good of the game.”
Lochinvar Rovers FC have worked diligently through the past few seasons to improve their governance aimed at providing the best experience possible for their members. The club takes pride in providing opportunities for players, referees, volunteers and take every opportunity to participate in zone and member federation activities. Committee members of Lochinvar Rovers FC are very active in supporting other clubs on their own pathway to improvement.
Mayfield United JSFC have arrived at their 5 Star accreditation on a slightly different journey. Delegates from the club JSFC initiated a conversation with the NNSWF Club Development team over a year ago about steps to be implemented to grow and develop their club. The committee has improved its Governance while developing and implementing effective strategies aimed at creating opportunities and providing an improved experience for all members. Registrations at Mayfield United JSFC grew by over 200 players for the 2019 season. The Sunday morning Kick-Off program for young participants has grown to provide a positive introduction to football for a number of 4 and 5 year old players. Mayfield United JSFC fielded 15 teams in adult competitions in 2019 and operate a busy Summer Football competition.
The NCDP is accessible to all football clubs in Australia. In the two years that Football Victoria trialled the program, development officers were able to develop 30 clubs into 5 Star clubs. Participation in the program can offer immense outcomes for all football clubs.
