Future of Football Review – Independent consultations to start this week

March 7th, 2022

Sports Business Partners will start independent, face-to-face consultations from today with Member Zone Boards and Management, Standing Committee Chairs and NNSW’s Board of Directors.

SBP will use the data collected from the recently completed Future of Football survey to identify trends and inform face-to-face discussions as part of the consultations.

The one-and-a-half hour consultations have been scheduled between 7 and 27 March. SBP will deliver the consultations at Member Zone offices and the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.

No NNSWF representatives will be present.

The purpose of the consultations is to provide an overview of the Future of Football Review as well as identify the key strengths and weaknesses of the current governance and administration structures across football in northern NSW.

It is also a chance to understand the key issues and opportunities relating to governance and administration across football in northern NSW.

Similar opportunities will be provided to all other participant groups in line with the stakeholder consultation roadmap.

The schedule of SBP consultations with Member Zone Boards and Management, Standing Committee Chairs and NNSWF’s Board of Directors is:

Here is an overview of the Future of Football consultation timeline from 2020 to now

Ongoing commitment to transparency and genuine consultation

Why have NNSWF’s Board actioned the review?

The purpose of the review is to identify and subsequently address the limitations of the current governance and administration structures to ensure the region’s largest club-based sport has the capacity to tangibly support clubs and other stakeholders to deliver quality football experiences which are affordable for families.

All voices are important.

Throughout the process all stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide feedback to the independent change consultant, SBP. This has and will continue to happen throughout 2022 via surveys, face-to-face workshops and the Future of Football Portal.

NNSWF is committed to testing and validating our perceptions and identifying other limitations through meaningful consultation with Members, clubs, participants and other stakeholders.
