All smiles as 2021 Northern NSW Football season kicks off

April 23rd, 2021

It will be all smiles as Community Football officially kicks off across northern NSW this weekend.

Scores of players will take to the pitch across Hunter Valley Football, Newcastle Football and Macquarie Football Member Zones from children to adults.

While the 2020 season provided clubs and players with a number of challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 season is set to be the biggest yet across northern NSW as those who missed out on football last year return to the game.

Northern NSW Football CEO David Eland said he was delighted that players were about to step back out onto the pitch.

“Last year was obviously hugely challenging for not just players but also parents and volunteers,” Eland said.

“We wouldn’t have got back on the pitch without them last season and I am thrilled that everyone can return to playing the game they love this year.

“Thank you again to all of our players, volunteers and parents for your patience and support. And all the very best to our players and match officials as they get back out there.”

Northern NSW Football Community Football staff will be out and about this weekend making visits to a number of clubs to thank them for their commitment to the game and to lend a hand.

Football Far North Coast and Northern Inland Football return to action on 1 May, while Football Mid North Coast return a week later on 8 May.

North Coast Football returned on 17 April.
