ALDI MiniRoos Matildas in France Celebration Gala Days coming to LMRFF

May 29th, 2019

To celebrate our Westfield Matildas competing in France on the world stage, Northern NSW Football would like to invite your club to partake in the ALDI MiniRoos Matildas in France Celebration Gala Day.

Following a week after Westfield Matildas’ first game in France against Italy on June 9, these fun filled days will allow all players to partake in fun games and activities based around the upcoming tournament. Teams are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Westfield Matildas player and in the Green and Gold and there’s prizes to be won!

From Sunday 16 June, there will be three gala days taking place on consecutive Sundays featuring a day for Mixed 5-8 year olds, Mixed 9-11 year olds, and also a ALDI MiniRoos for Girls gala day for 5-8 year olds.

Clubs can enter as many ALDI MiniRoos teams as they like, both mixed and Girls-Only to play in a round robin Gala Day on our Football FIVE5 pitches at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility. Registering a team gives your players the opportunity to play in a safe, organised, and social environment.

Time is running out so REGISTER now to avoid disappointment!

Each MiniRoos team will play at least three matches on the day and every player will receive a FREE FOOTBALL. There are also full café facilities available for refreshments, food and coffee for parents.

Additional Information:

All ALDI MiniRoos Gala Days will be held at the state of the art Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility, Speers Point on the all-weather, synthetic Football Five5 pitches.

All matches will be 20 minutes in length and will consist of two halves of 10 minutes, with a 5 minute half time break and game leaders will be provided by NNSWF all matches.

Players are to wear full club playing kit with shin pads being compulsory.

Playing numbers for under 6 and under 7 categories are – 5v5 with no goalkeeper.

Playing numbers for all other age categories (under 8 to under 11) is 5v5 including a goalkeeper.

Football Five5 rules will apply to all matches throughout the day with the largest difference to MiniRoos football being that the ball stays in play constantly via rebounds off the side walls.

A full list of Football Five5 rules can be found here.

Sidelines Café will be open through the day for players and parents to access a range of hot and cold food and drinks.

Clubs are also encouraged to bring along any marque tents, shade structures and chairs to assist in providing shade or shelter for players and spectators. Grandstand seating is also available surrounding the fields however this is limited.
