NNSWF Announces 2015 Girls Football Week Program

April 29th, 2015

In the wake of International Women’s Day, Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is pleased to announce the 2015 Girls Football Week Program.

A true reflection of International Women’s Day’s 2015 Theme, ‘Make it Happen’, NNSWF’s Girls Football Week was initiated in 2012 to foster appreciation, acknowledgement and support of females currently within football, as well as to encourage and welcome new participants into the sport.

The fourth NNSWF Girls Football Week will take place from 11th until 17th May 2015 with an aim to highlight and appreciate female participation in football across all echelons of the game including playing, coaching, refereeing and volunteering.

The 2015 Girls Football Week program will include NNSWF’s fourth annual Female Football Forum at which clubs are invited to participate with a view to provide NNSWF’s Board of Directors recommendations relating to the growth, promotion and development of women’s football throughout the Region, in addition to a Women’s Leadership Development Workshop, Girls Gala Day and Female Only Grassroots Coaching Course.

Additionally, the week will culminate in Round 10 of the Herald Women’s Premier League on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May during which clubs will be encouraged to hold fundraisers in support of the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation’s (HBCF) Boot Out Breast Cancer Campaign.

In addition to the Herald Women’s Premier League HBCF fundraising round, fellow NNSWF clubs have been invited to participate in the HBCF’s Boot Out Breast Cancer Campaign, or Breast Cancer Network Australia’s Pink Sports Day.
