Today saw the stars from the Newcastle Jets Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League sides undertake the FFA/AFC ‘B’ Coaching Licence at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility (LMRFF).
Captains Nigel Boogard and Cass Davis, were joined by Nikolai Topor-Stanley, Glen Moss and Daniel Georgievski where they learned the course directed by NNSWF Technical Director Michael Browne focusing on the 11 v 11 aspects of the game, analysing football, and applying the FFA Vision and Philosophy in the Game Training Model.
The players also developed an understanding and knowledge of the National Football Curriculum, management of players, how to plan, prepare, conduct and evaluate a training session and how to develop a 3-cycle periodisation plan which no doubt will assist them in both the future of coaching, but also in their playing performances.
The course is the second step on the FFA pathway to become a professional coach one day after completing the initial ‘C’ Licence course.
There are both FFA/AFC ‘C’ and ‘B’ Licence course dates coming soon to the LMRFF and to Coffs Harbour, as too is the NNSWF Coaching Conference providing Community Football and Premier coaches the chance to learn and improve their skills to an elite level just as the Newcastle Jets stars have done.
